Founded by artist & professor Vibhav Kapoor, the driving principle of this atelier is the phenomenon of darshan, which literally means ‘to see’. A reciprocal act of seeing and being seen, darshan is also the Hindi word for philosophy that addresses insight as the immanent source of experience and knowledge. This idea transcends Hindu culture and is the philosophy guiding the creative purpose in which life itself is an endless source of inspiration to make resounding dramatic images.
Darshan Studio exists to build a rigorous, handmade, image-based practice using various photographic processes.
